So this year, stop playing fast and loose with your life and the lives of your friends
and families and join us here with daily updates on how to better enjoy a Whole
month of Halloween. (Come on, a Month long party isn't too much to ask of you in
order to protect yourself from the populous of the other world is it?)
Post links on Twitter* with the #amonthofhalloween hash tag or send an e-mail to me
at power_dale@yahoo.com and I will post any original contribution that you wish that
meets the theme (So anything even loosely Halloween, horror, dark comedy, or
anything else we can make fit...)and has enough quality to prevent me from being
targeted by demons for eternal abuse in a fiery pit. So links to anything Halloween are
not just welcomed, but needed!
Calendar of Events
This October will be filled with fun, music, horror, comedy and most of all, life. (Which
we will maintain by mimicking Death if that's what it takes!)
*Links, if they lead to good content, will also be reposted here. Their content will be attributed to the
Twitter name attached to them, making this a great way to advertise a Halloween related product or
service, but remember, it has to be related! Spam will have you pointed out to the dark spirits as a
snack treat.
** We cannot be held responsible if participation or lack thereof results in your being make a host
of hell or ends up in possession by any other worldly agency. You, ultimately, are responsible for
maintaining your safety, which, face it, is best served by not seeming like a soft and tasty human.
While we cannot guarantee your safety, following and participating in this month long celebration is
your best bet for getting through the month intact, both mentally and physically.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Recommended by: ricdude (on Twitter)
Directed by:Jim Sharman
Year: 1975
Plot Summary:
A classic that most have seen by now, it involves a castle, a transvestite and some aliens. It's a
musical, more or less.
Best seen with a few hundred of your friends!
*Still in limited release 35 years after its premiere, it has the longest-running theatrical release in
film history. So it's possible to go and see it in a theater near you!
Subspicies
Recommended by: xDangerKittyx (on Twitter)
Directed by: Ted Nicolaou
Year: 1991
Plot Summary:
I haven't seen the film myself, so here is the summary from Wikipedia! (Wikipedia, for all your
publicly edited information needs.)
“Subspecies
Subspecies (1991) follows three college students, Mara, Michelle, and Lillian, as they begin a study
on Romanian culture and superstition in the small town Prejnar. They are befriended by Stefan, a
student studying nocturnal animals. It is revealed that the nearby Castle Vladislas has been caught
in a power struggle between vampire brothers Stefan and Radu. Centuries prior, King Vladislas
was seduced and cursed by a sorceress who eventually gave birth to Radu. After banishing Radu's
mother, the king met a mortal woman. She gave birth to Stefan, who prefers to live in the open, and
loathes his vampire heritage. To gain control over the Bloodstone, a relic that is said to drip the
blood of the saints, Radu kills his father. In an effort to hurt his brother, Radu turns Mara and Lillian
into vampires. Stefan, having fallen in love with Michelle, helps her try and free Mara and Lillian from
Radu's control. Stefan drives a stake through Radu's heart and severs his head with a sword,
killing Radu. Unfortunately for Stefan, Radu bites Michelle before his brother can kill him, which
forces Stefan to turn Michelle with his own blood in order to keep her from becoming like Radu. As
Stefan and Michelle sleep, Radu's minions set about resurrecting their master.”
Can't say it better than that!
(Well, I can't, which is why I just copied it from someone else. You probably could, which does beg
the question, why didn't you? Well, maybe with the next one! We still have a half month of
Halloween left!)
Bordello of Blood:
Recommended by: xDangerKittyx x (On Twitter)
Year: 1996
Starring: Dennis Miller, Erika Eleniak, Angie Everhart, Corey Feldman, and Chris Sarandon
Plot Summary:
Based loosely on the Television Series “Tales From the Crypt” this movie is about Vampires
setting up a business as a cover operation, a Bordello and Evil humans coming to kill them and
burn down their source of income and food.
Pesky humans!
Cemetery Man:
Recommended by: lbgirl69 (on Twitter)
Directed by Michele Soavi.
Year: 1994
Plot Summary:
This is an Italian tale of loves lost and unrequited mixed with Zombies and the specter of Death
itself! A little weird? Sure!
But if you wanted normal, you wouldn't be reading this, now would you?
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Recommeded by: DaleLPower (from inside my head, though you can find me on twitter too.)
Directed by: Wes Craven
Year: 1984
Plot summary:
If you kill a child molesting murderer, he will come back and kill your kids in their dreams. So teach
your children not to sleep and have lots of speed on hand for them. Just in case.
An American Werewolf in London
Recommended by: xDangerKittyx (on Twitter)
Written and Directed by: John Landis
Year released: 1981
Plot Summary:
Remember when you went on holiday in Europe after college, with nothing but a back pack and a
bit of money for youth hostels?
Then remember how you were mauled by a werewolf and had your best friend urging you to kill
yourself from beyond the grave?
This movie is just like that.
Only set in the early 80's.
Coraline
Recommended by: lbgirl69 (Seconded by shaneandrew82!)
Directed by: Henry Selick
Year: 2009
Plot summary:
A story about young Coraline, who finds her way into the “Other World” (as most children eventually
do in real life.)
She gets into trouble when she selfishly refuses to have buttons sew in for eyes and balks at
losing her soul. She has to use all her wits and a little help from some new friends, to save the day
and return home again.
*A great movie to teach children the value of not walking into the other world unattended.
**And for an extra special treat, try reading the original short story by Neil Gaiman (also entitled
"Coraline").
My Soul To Take
Directed by: Wes Craven
Year: 2010
Plot Summary:
Children, especially teens, must die! This is typical of horror movies and is especially true of
anything Wes Craven does it seems. (Nightmare on elm street for instance)
But, since this is largely true, the plot device just keeps on working!
In this movie, a murderer dies and may be coming back due to reincarnation, 16 years later. It is up
to his some to try and stop this evil that never dies.
It's showing in 3-D, which is a sure ticket to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, so probably not for the
feint of heart!
Blood Fare
Recommended by: BLOODFAREmovie
Directed by: J.A. Steel
Year: 2011
Plot Summary:
An ancient Civil War Battlefield is the scene of horrors that cross time. As this movie progresses
the lines between the living and the dead become vague and shadowy. Just the way we like it!
Taking place in the modern day, the 5-times removed grandchildren of a civil war hero must do
everything they can to survive the carnage and mystery.
*I made part of that up. I hope I'm close, but this movie isn't out yet! Still, they were cool enough to
send me a press release, so... Here ya go!
**I can tell you that the cast is good looking from the pictures sent with the press release.
Lair of the White Worm
Recommended by: xDangerKittyx (On Twitter)
Directed by: Ken Russell
Year: 1988
Plot summary: Despite sounding like an artsy porn movie, it is actually loosely based on the Bram
Stoker novel of the same name.
A man discovers a giant snake may be alive in Scotland, so the locals try to offer him up as a
human sacrifice to it. Which when you think about it makes total sense. Getting rid of tourists and
placating the snake at the same time.
Near Dark
Recommended by: xDangerKittyx (On Twitter)
Directed by: Kathryn Bigelow
Year: 1987
Plot Summary: Turned into a Vampire, Caleb must try to protect his family from the other Vampires.
Then he's not a Vampire any more after a blood transfusion, so he has to fight the Vampires as a
regular person.
Brilliant of course, because no Vampire would ever see it coming!
Return to Horror High:
Recommended by: ricdude (on Twitter)
Directed by: Bill Froehlich
Year: 1987
Plot Summary:
Ah, the 80's a simple time when all you had to do to have a horror movie is splash a little blood and
kill a few teenagers...
So, actually exactly like today in that respect!
This film is about making a movie based on a series of murders that took place in a small town.
The only catch? The murder was never caught and is apparently still around!
So movie becomes real life, in a movie, as the leading man and lady of the film have to find out who
the killer is and save the day. Or at least not die horribly...
Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis
Submitted by: lbgirl69 (On Twitter)
Director: Ellory Elkayem
Year of release: 2005
Plot summary: A group of teenagers try to take on a major corporation, unleashing killer Zombies in
the process. (Teenagers, don't try fighting Zombies unsupervised if at all possible!)
Cheerleader Massacre 2
Submitted by: deliciafay (On Twitter)
Director: Jim Wynorski
Year of release: 2003
Plot summary: What happens when five comely cheerleaders, their coach and some others go to
an isolated cabin in the woods? I'm not sure, but I hear it involves a lot of female nudity and...Blood.

This is Halloween: Marilyn Manson
Decent little song, with a slide show of a man that lives Halloween every day. Wonderful!

Bad Moon Rising: Rasputina
This song is an eerily smooth remake of the original. Perfect for this time of year. Rasputina's voice
is either lovely or freaky. Take your pick, she manages both at the same time.

This fine little ditty will make you distrust your neighbors. Seriously! A great addition to any holiday

People to follow on Twitter:
LKHamilton: Not just a pretty face, she is also the author of The Anita Blake novels. The Meredith
Gentry series too! (And if you think the fair folk had nothing to do with Halloween, think again!)
If you like Vampires, Shape changers, guns and lots of sex, you really need to check out her work. If
you like guns, martial arts and interesting conversations you should follow her on Twitter.
*Plus, she is the first one to jump in to this wonderful Month of Halloween! (So special props to her
there!)
Deliciafay: What happens when America's perky redheaded “Nerd Queen” betrays you and takes
out your eye with a spork?
No this isn't “American Pie 17: The Reckoning” I'm talking about Felicia Day, The new redheaded
queen of the nerds...
You get an arch nemesis! (One dedicated to showing the world how EVIL you are.)
Who is Delicia Fey, the eerie doppleganger of the (evil) Felecia day?
Is she:
Felicia's martial arts master, who's was betrayed and left half-sighted? (An incident involving a
ruthless spork attack. Oh the humanity!)
A three hundred pound man spurned by Felicia that lives in his aunt Mildred's basement? (At one
time such people were the backbone of the Internet. They have not all died off!)
Felicia's brother? (Sibling rivalry and all that? Could happen...)
Or could she be Felicia herself? (Dun, dun, DUUUUUN!)
(Actually, I don't know. Right now I'm going with answer one or two. Either way, she is definitely
worth checking out and a fun person to chat with!)
WausauLoner: After the Zombies came, people had to rebuild their world while fighting to stay
alive. This is the story of one such man.
This serial tale is probably going to be up for a shorty award next year. I highly recommend
following it now! (Before all the new and unique wears off.)
TGPumpkin: New to the scene? Sure. Here for a limited time? Sure. But folks, this is THE
GREAT PUMPKIN here!
Like Santa, only not a corporate sell out. (Right, elves make all those toys. Funny how many of them
are apparently named Matel, isn't it?)
xDangerKittyx: Every now and then a beautiful girl will show up and lead the way to a brighter
Halloween. This year we have several, but xDangerKittyx is certainly one of them!
For a good (Halloween) time, follow her!
DaleLPower: OK, this is me. Don't make me beg. (Seriously, I'm horrible at it. Too much drool
and crying probably...Plus, it makes me kind of gassy... Not pleasant at all!)
Special links:
RiffTrax. You remember those guys from Mystery Science Theater 3000? Well, unable to get
other paying work, since The McDonald's in their area wasn't hiring for managers and they didn't
want to work the prep line, they set out on their own and now make fun of movies that were actually
made within our lifetimes!
McDonald's loss is our gain though, as they hit a lot of great titles for Halloween!
If you haven't already checked them out I suggest you give them a try!

(*Dear Mike, Keven and Bill... I hope this fulfills our agreement in full and you will now release my
pet Turtle Skippy. Please! Turtles do NOT make good blood sacrifices! SKIPPY!!!!!

SPECIAL NOTE:
Vampires, historically speaking, are not sparkly. They are dead people that drink your blood and life
energy to stay alive and animate. If they don't get human blood, they rot. (Ewwww.)
So next time Twilight is playing, remember this: Vampires are corpses.
That will be all.

Halloween. The most important holiday of the year. Why you
ask? What's in it for you? After all, Christmas gets you loaded
down with presents and has better decorations, right?
How about the greatest gift of all?
That's right, not having your eternal soul sucked into a hell
dimension or being kidnapped by otherworldly beings and used
as a food source so they may hatch their spawn in your liver. Or
possibly Kidneys. I've never been to certain which is more
popular with that sort.
